Any Flower Mound experts? We just moved here (renting for 6 months), so before we buy a house we're wondering if there is much of a difference between the two high schools here. Is it more beneficial to feed into one vs the other? They both seem great (according to stats), but there is always more to a school than just test scores.

I graduated from FMHS. FMHS has always had slightly higher scores than Marcus and the facilities are a little nicer/newer. Honestly, you would be fine at either of them, though.

You won't be wrong with any of them , the only plus for Marcus is the awsome Music program.

Honestly both schools are great, so the differences between them come down mostly to ill-informed perceptions. Some would say that FMHS has more bored wealth kid problems (drugs, alcohol, divorce etc.) while others would say that Marcus is perhaps a bit too much into extracurricular activities at the expense of academics. I'd tend to favor FMHS, just because the attendance zone is on the South side of FloMo, which would save a few minutes on the commute. Other than that, the best way to differentiate between the two schools is to ask yourself if you prefer Red or Navy Blue.

Thank you! It's good to know that when we start house hunting we won't have to worry about making sure it's in a specific school feed.
