Default Finally Settled

I wanted to revive this thread because there were a few people on here that had some good suggestions…

I have recently relocated from the bitter cold of Milwaukee, WI to a new job in Dallas. It seemed as if there were a few people here that were interested in getting together at some point for a drink. Being new to Dallas and not knowing a sole, I would be game for some interaction/conversation other than the occasional bark from my dog. I’m living in the up-town area and would be game to meet up. I just want to see if any other people were interested in that. I’ve noticed that the more I move and the older I get the more difficult it is to meet people…

Thoughts?

Eleanor - maybe start a new thread to get people's attention on this topic. I don't live in Dallas yet so I can't be much help organizing a get together (although I would if I were there), but I think it's a great idea you all want to meet one another. Good luck!

Lakewooder's suggestions are good. You can also try things like Match.com or Yahoo Personals, although in my experience, those people are mostly freaks. Might luck out, though.
I agree Yahoo personals and Match.com IS NOT GOOD VENUE to connect with people. I think guys have it easier though... us girls need to worry about meeting up with stalkers/serial killers/rapists etc.

I'm also a single professional female hoping to get a new job in Dallas area and move there sometime this summer. I have a couple of close friends in the area but I'd love to make more friends. My friends are married and recently separated so I need some single folks to add to my roster

I get the whole Match thing but I am not really looking to date... just looking to meet different people. If I was to post on Match saying... I am really not looking to get married or date anyone in particular... just looking to hang out occasionally…

Do you think I would get a very favorable take rate on that posting?

Sounds like meetup.com would be more to your liking... groups based on shared interests/ages/hobbies, etc!

Welcome to Texas!
