Dallas is different from LA
The Californians who have moved here already have noted that Dallas is not like L.A. We don't have In-n-Outs and we have Taco Bueno and we have a lot of churches and we go to church and we donate money to our churches. The few Dallas natives have accents and we don't do things as they are done in California. We don't eat wine and cheese at the Texas State Fair.
Are you ready for this cultural change? It won't be like California.

Whataburger is like In-N-Out burger. And in any case, In-N-Out burger is highly overrated. I'm Californian and still can't understand why people rave like it's the best thing in the world. There are so many better small burger places in CA.

You stated "any information is appreciated". That is the most critical information that you need to know about moving from California.

LDN, I am so greatful for all the nice people on this board. They have always treated me great and I appreciated it a lot. I am sorry but I think you are the first one on this board that was not very nice to someone.
gmoney, don't go away. People here are very nice. You just got a bad apple. I guess he hates us Californians.

LDN, Im sorry that you are resentful that some Californians aren't very understanding, but I think if you try to paint us all as elitist heathens then I think you would miss some of the very nice people that just happen to be migrating from California.
edit: its momof2dfw...you can also search the site using Rowlett or any other city where the name comes up in any of the text.
Good luck in your search!

Rockwall over Rowlett. Especially in that price range. Give me some more specifics about what you want as far as the community you want to live in, commute times/locations and such and I can probably pinpoint some areas that would best interest you. If you want to avoid high taxes, Rowlett is NOT the place to go. And that is not the only reason to not move there. I'd run out of room if I had to list them all.
