I live in Flower Mound and Alliance is on my way to work in North Fort Worth. It takes 20 -25 min max for the Alliance exit on 35W South. If you live in South/ West FM, take 1171 West (Cross Timbers Road). 1171 is currently undergoing expansion to a 6 lane road from Shiloh all the way to 35W, scheduled for completion in Aug 2016.
Flower Mound will be the fastest commute since traffic on 1171 and internal roads in Flower Mound is low compared to Coppell or Southlake. With the expansion of 1171, you can also expect development of the I-35 Western corridor in the next few years. After the 2499 re-construction and 1171/ 820 expansion completion, Flower Mound will become more centrally located in terms of commute with Dallas Downtown and Fort Worth Downtown expected under 45 mins.

I would generally agree to look in western Flower Mound if you want houses in the 275K-350K range and a commute to Alliance that won't be hideous. As noted, both Flower Mound and Marcus HS are very good (I'd rank Flower Mound above Marcus if we're splitting hairs, but either one is an excellent choice).

Keller also would have reasonable commutes and Keller HS in particular puts up good metrics (I'm a little leery of it because with its demographics it should put up very good metrics, but that's picking nits). There should be a number of choices in your desired range. As BCB notes, there is that small part of Keller just adjacent to SW Southlake that is within Carroll ISD. The Creekview subdivision would be right at the top end of your price range, but it would be new construction. You'll have to price out the alternatives to see if that would make sense, even assuming you were willing to go all the way up to 450K. I personally would not assign a large price premium to Carroll ISD over Flower Mound HS and think the commute would be a little longer from Creekview than from western Flower Mound, but that's a decision for you to make after considering what's available.

Good luck to you!
