Default where did all the country people go in texas?

i've lived in Texas all my life and growing up i remember more country people so to speak being around. now days it seems more like every where you go i see people wearing baggy pants and everything else. i miss being able to go somewhere and see men and women both wearing wranglers, cowboy hats and what not... Texas has always been a country state so to speak, i'm wondering what happened to all the cowboys and cowgirls around here? is Texas just not like that anymore? it almost seems like i am going to have to go to Wyoming or Montana just to be able to see those things again and it's just too cold up there for me...lol...

Trust me they are out there. Do you want my parents address? They are about as Texas country as you could ask for! The same goes for their circle of friends! They live in a poodunk town called Mart, TX.

Try Huntsville. My nephew goes to SHSU and there's a lot of cowboys and cowgirls there.

Hmmmm well maybe a nearby town called Riesel may be more your and his speed.

I lived there for about 3 years while I was growing up. Of course that was the 1980s, but things have not changed that much. Its far enough away from anything to be country but still close enough to a larger city (Waco) if you ever need to go into one.

Happy New Year and Good Luck

Jake

You have the Wranglers and baggy pants all over Texas. I live in a small town, and we have both. Times are changing, unfortunately, and people nowadays want to look like slobs with the crotch of their pants hanging down to their knees. I do hope this unattractive fad goes away. Surely it will. And I'd be willing to bet that Mart and Riesel have the drooping drawers too. Ugh!!

Well Mart does, my sisters go to school there, but Riesel and Mart are like night and day....I guarantee you the wranglers outnumber the baggys 10 to 1.
Funny thing you mention the baggy pants....I started a thread awhile back about it, Campaign Against Baggy Pants.

i do agree that they are everywhere now days and it is ridiculous. it does make you look like a slob so to speak, i can't find much of anything good to say about a person i see wearing the baggy pants so when i see them i just keep my mouth closed. i sure do hope it goes away but for some reason i think it's here to stay and will probably get worse. my son and i were watching a movie tonight, "Montana Sky" and he asked, mama, how come we don't have cowboys around here like that, i wanna go there where i can be with other kids that dress like me. all i could do was laugh and tell him how much i agreed with him. but i tried to explain to him that up that way they wear those things more than here probably cause it's ranching country there and not really here anymore.

Default REAL Cowboys/Girls

Ha,You have to go were the Farms are,The Reason you Don't see Any REAL Cowboys/Cowgirls is cause Develpoers are Buying out their Farms,So There is No need to Wear Boots,Wranglers, and Cowboy Hat If you Live in a Condo or Shopping at the Mall..Also bout the Baggy Jeans,I Agree but Would Also, Recommend a Ban on Tight Jeans on people Who Can't Wear them Appropriately,Who Have A LOT OF JUNK Hangin Out of the Trunk,Not GOOD,Actually Gross...............Like when u go to the Beach and Sorry to Say but you see a Whale in a THONG,@%$$%@.Some People just Don't Give a Hoot when they Pollute.
