Just curious, We have been to 3 catholic churches, and none of them use the thurible (the swinging incense burner). Is this a Texas thing (fire code), or is this only certain types of catholic parishes that use that?

In looking for a church, we like to find one that is similar to our old one, and using a thurible is one of them. Are there any catholic churches that use it?

They are routinely used at Easter and Christmas but not a regular weekly mass in the DFW Catholic churches we have attended

I grew up Catholic, and don't think I ever saw that in use (just learned the name of it from this post!) until I started attending an Episcopalian church.

I've seen it when visiting St. Jude in Allen, TX...

I don't think I've seen a church without kneelers in the DFW area
