How is this area? Is it a nice area? I've heard they have two movie theaters, decent elementary schools, and is 15 minutes from The Parks Mall?

Is Westchester in GP a good place to move too?

I've heard the rather middle aged parts of the Westchester area (houses built in the 90's) are really nice, middle class "family oriented neighborhoods". I've also heard i shouldn't go anywhere on the North because of the crime rate and "illegal aliens".

Westchester was a very hot place to live in the mid 90s because of the location and affordability until Mansfield took over with the growth and newer homes. Westchester is still a nice place to be. Lots of homes for sale there right now (59 to be exact) ranging from 110 to 300K. The Grand Praire school district is rated "acceptable". It has 35 schools of which none are rated exemplary, 8 are recognized, 7 of those are elementary (Powell, Garner, Hill serve the Westchester area) are recognized and 23 are rated acceptable.

2 Schools are rated "Unacceptable" GP High School and Bush Elementary.

Yes. The first house we ever owned was a brand-new one in Westchester, constructed in 1987. There was NOTHING out there then except the shopping center, which was new. Now there are theaters, restaurants, etc. We lived there for 5 years and made some very good friends - all of us have moved elsewhere, however. Westchester, as compared to most of GP, is one of the nicer areas. It's considered a "move up" neighborhood for the city.
