Hello all,

Need some inputs and assistance here. Family of 3, moving from upstate NY to Dallas area. Planning to relocate by May/June 2015.

Office is in Richardson but need not go to office - have liberty to work from home. High School is of utmost importance.

Need suggestions on:

1. Good Indian neighborhood/community. Prefer to rent independent 3 BR house but equally OK with a good apartment.

2. Good high school. I'm willing to move away from Dallas if the schools are better in adjoining towns/cities.

Any inputs greatly appreciated.

Budget? Richardson would probably be a good place to look first, and obviously Plano as well.

FYI - Our independent school districts (ISDs) do not follow city boundaries. So a house could be in Plano, but that doesn't mean it is zoned to Plano schools.

@stephwin, thanks for the response.

Budget is 1400-1600. Great to know the ISDs don't follow boundaries.

However, school bus availability is something I will be worried about. We used to live in Austin during 2006-8 and the school bus routes had limitations. I had a tough time in dropping/picking up the child. Don't want a repeat this time.

Most ISDs won't bus kids in if you live less than 2 miles from the school.

You should be able to find something in your price range for either Plano or Richardson, but I took a quick look just now and most houses probably won't be very updated.
