I am not sure what the guy saw above at Weirs, but it has been in business for 100 years and has some if the top lines in the industry. Bernhardt, Hooker, Stanley and others are solid hardwood. The outlets tend to be hit or miss, but they have quality for sure. I am a furniture sales rep and know what these stores carry, not junk.

I will add in my 2 cents on Weir's as well. I have always been extremely happy with their customer service. I will say, some of the items in the store do appear to have dimished in quality, but the majority of big name furniture manufacturers no longer produce their furniture in the US. It is now made overseas, which is fine if the company has good quality control with the overseas factories. For example, Hooker manufactures overseas, but they control it to keep the quality.

Another great thing about Weir's is you do have the ability to go through the books for the different brands they carry, and you can order anything from those collections at a varying discount off MSRP, depending on the brand. You are only charged 25% to order, then you pay the remainder when the item arrives. You do have to know what you want, though, as there are no returns on special orders.

I have had instances there where I didn't see anything in the store I liked, but ended up ordering items from them from the Stanley, Lexington & Hekman catalogs. The Weir's salesperson would always call the rep for any of those manufacturers for me to get my questions answered, and the prices are 30-60% off MSRP if you order through Weir's.

Yes, you can find similar prices at the end of the day online, but you don't have the local contact & customer service you get if there's an issue like you do with Weir's. I would recommend them hands down.
