Okay, its official...We are moving to Murphy! Researching the nearby cities we have noticed that there are not many businesses in Wylie but there are many homes being built there. What is the plan for this city? Does anyone know if they are planning to develope more there???

Congratulations on moving to Murphy !! Small city with excellent schools.
There are not many business/corporate in Wylie and it mainly has residential and retail. Wylie has decent schools and homes are more affordable with easy access to 78, George Bush & I75. Due to this there is lot of construction in Wylie/Sache area.

Are you asking about more retail or more industrial/commercial jobs?

Anything set in stone might be listed at the Wylie Economic Development office Wylie Economic Development Board . Check the meeting minutes and other available docs. You can also look at the Wylie Chamber of Commerce site and possibly even email them your questions Home - Wylie Chamber of Commerce,TX .

Thanks! Small city with great schools is what we are hoping for in Murphy, great to hear Thanks for the response. We haven't driven around much in Wylie, we are zoned for Wylie ISD and have driven around the area by Wylie HS and Middle Schools.

Check out the Fire Wheel area. Besides the mall at George Bush Turnpike/Hwy 78, there are restaurants/hotels/retail along George Bush Turnpike/Garland Road.
