hi,

i am in town only for a month.i have a Samsung galaxy S2 phone.(previously owned by a friend,unlocked,at&t)

i am looking for a cheapest talk-time plan.till now i found at&t gophone the best option.. the $25 plan.. which has 250 minutes talk time and unlimited text.

are there any other options available cheaper than this.

i am really, really in a very bad financial crunch.

I am student & looking for a job.till i get a job,or financial support, i just have to have a number to give people so that they can be in touch with me.

i would like to have a data-plan, but that's not mandatory..

please please, all you intelligent folks.. suggest me something..

thanks,

joy

Straight Talk $45 each month. Works with an AT&t ph. You get unlimited talk text and data. I have been using it 7 months. No more insane VZY bills.

Cricket Wireless has a $35/mo plan with unlimited voice and texts, and 1GB data. Works with ATT phones and runs on the ATT network. $35/mo if you sign up for their autopay, but it's a no contract carrier.

Cheaper than $25 is tough. There's FreedomPop, but they require a Sprint phone. You could buy a cheap phone and do their BYOD plan which is $20 one time activation. Then, it's free to use for up to 200 minutes, 500 texts, 500 MB data. Alternatively, they have pay plans that are $7/mo for unlimited talk/text. Runs on Sprint network.

If you know someone with existing monthly plan you can ask them to add a line and share data with them.
After one month they can remove the line.
I did this for friend visiting from Germany. I think it costed me less than 40$ and he appreciated unlimited talk/international texting with data.

If you don't talk a lot on phone pay as you go can be a good alternative. My wife uses Tmobile that cost about 10 cents a minute and she rarely spends more than 10 dollars a month.
