Rosa's on Slaughter is one of the biggest disappointments for new restaraunts in Austin, in my opinion, that is. I had high hopes for that restaraunt while it was being built. Tried it 3 times and it was slightly less than mediocre.

Yeah, I don't know why I was thinking Slaughter Ln, the one we we went to was in San Marcos. Thats how bad it was, I've tried to erase it from my memory LOL. Taco Bueno is definetely better than Taco Bell and Del Taco, but Taco Cabana is even better. If you're ever down there, you should try Taco Palenque Jr. in Laredo, definetely the best fast Mexican food I've ever had!

While Taco Cabana is a decent option in the right circumstances, let's be clear that there are better Mexican food options out there.

I have not done enough exploring with the Mexican food options here. In the limited amount of exploration I've done, I've not been overly impressed with Dallas' Mexican food, though I'll say that I haven't been disappointed either. It's just been decent to slightly above average, depending upon the place. I just haven't had a exquisite Mexican food experience here.
