Hi. It's been years since I've had really good crepes. Most of the crepes I've had have been brunch items at hotels I've stayed in on business trips around the country. I've never eaten crepes in my own home town!

Can anyone suggest some good places to get great crepes in Dallas? I'm in Carrollton, so I'd prefer restaurants in the North Dallas and north suburbs, but I don't mind heading down into the Greenville area. I don't want to go into downtown Dallas or Oaklawn area.

Crepes4U in Plano. It's inside the Jusgo Asian Market on Legacy Drive just west of 75. Delicious, and the owner is really friendly. They are Japanese style and the best crepe I've ever had. I used to love The Original Pancake House ones, but Paul's are much better!

Thank you both for the recommendations.

bamaintex, is that the same shopping center where JS Chen's Dim Sum restaurant is? I love that place. What differentiates Japanese style from French style? I'm intrigued.

tyanger, I will check that one out. The crepes listed on their menu look exactly like what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I think it's the same shopping center though I've never been to that side. I keep meaning to try JS Chen. I always stick to the food court or Iravat. I'm not sure all of the differences in the style except he folds the crepe where you eat it like an ice cream cone. No fork or knife required. He learned to make the crepes in Japan according to yelp reviews. He is very friendly and Im sure he would explain the difference. He makes the crepes while you watch and cuts all the fruit as he's making your crepe. You can get them crispy, medium, or soft and he will substitute ingredients. It gets really crowded on the weekends and the wait can be long since he's usually the only one in there.

I need to try Frogg too. I've walked by it many times, but I'm not a coffee drinker so I've never ventured inside and didn't realize they did crepes. I'm sure Bonnie Ruth's probably has them too since it's French. It's also in Watters Creek.

I second this one.

There is also a little Asian treat place off Campbell in Richardson behind Twisted Root. They have more waffles and shaved ice, but do serve tasty crepes.

I had no idea there was a twisted root in there. That development is a virtual assault on the senses so I usually blow right past it but I'll have to check it out now.

Ha! Yes, that development is a bit of a mess. I've been to that Twisted Root twice and thought it was good. I've been told that it's not the best location to go to but I haven't been to any of the other locations so can't verify.

Taco Ocho just east of there on Campbell is another unrelated yummy place to go.
