Default Decent Arlington zip codes?

Moving down soon from Seattle and husband will be working in downtown Fort Worth and I'll be in downtown Dallas - someone recommended Arlington Highlands area when he was down there, good area? Not worried about schools (have no kids), probably want to buy a house (going to rent first so we can take our time to look around) in the $200k-$300k.

Thank you in advance

Sorry, no info on Arlington, but I just wanted to let you know that you both might look into the option of riding the Trinity Rail Express that goes all the way from downtown Ft. Worth to downtown Dallas.

See: Trinity Railway Express (TRE)

76017 (Southwest side), 76016 (Dalworthington Gardens & Lake Arlington areas) and 76013 (Shady Valley) are some of the best parts. Although schools aren't important to you, Martin HS is probably the best high school in the city and homes within its attendance zone are desirable (76017 and 76016 zip codes). Stay away from anything in the central, east and southeast sides of the city. The farther west you go the better the neighborhoods. Good luck with your move!

Default 76006 or 76012

We are all subjective to where we live. I think that the best place to live in Arlington is north. I lived in 76012 (walking distance from the River Legacy Park) for 7 years! Since we had our first child we decided to move to a slightly bigger house, again, those zip codes.

I think the Arlington Highlands area is very nice, but truthfully, that's really new and for years before this development, no one really liked the area.

Generally speaking, I think that most Arlingtonians would consider North Arlington to be more prestigious. With that said, I think South Arlington / Lake Arlington homes are usually newer. But I-30 is great for those wanting to commute to Fort Worth or Dallas.

I will be relocating to Arlington Texas from Las Vegas Nevada. I would like to know if Arlington is a friendly place for Blacks.
