I have a TX license and got a ticket yesterday in NJ while visiting a client. The ticket was for speeding, driving at 42 MPH in 30 MPH speed limit zone. I am planning on paying the fine.

I was reading that Out of State moving violation results in 2 points in TX. My question is does all traffic violation out of state gets reported to TX or does it depend on the state? What can I do if any on avoiding points on my TX license?

I have a clean driving record and my last ticket was in 2005.

As far as I know, all citations are reported to the state of the license. I am unsure how the process is in Texas when it comes to withholding points. In Florida, you can take a basic driver improvement class to get the points withheld. Contact the local DMV where you live and ask them. Were you in a residential zone when got were cited? I ask this because I'm a LEO in Florida and would never write a citation for 12 over unless it was in a residential/school/construction zone. Good luck!
