A friend's husband had it last year. The big thing with him was the night sweats and persistent fever. He was finally diagnosed at the Infectious Diesease Cinic at Texas Health Resources hospital in Euless.

It does happen. I never heard of anyone here having pertussis until people started moving here in droves from all over the world. That's not to say it didn't exist; I just never heard about it.

I don't think the USCIS checks visa applicants for it, either. Tuberculosis, yes. Pertussis...not sure. I think not.

A co-worker was diagnosed with it last year. She was really ill. Frustratingly, she had had a vaccination in the last three years, too, when a family member had a baby.

I got a booster when I received my flu shot this year. keeping fingers crossed!

According to state sources about 18% of cases involve adults.

After Christie mentioned night sweats I knew I was clear-- had those w shingles and not now
Got RX for different puffer and stronger antihistimine and two types of cough surpressors for day and night
She said I was "wet" and still wheezing when I coughed-- I did not think I was
She also gave note for chest X-ray if I don't feel better in 3 days

Get better soon. It's a terrible allergy year.

My friend's husband, a nephrologist, picked it up from the hospital a couple of years ago. Incidentally, I went in for my well woman visit Tues and she asked me the date of my last DTaP- I couldn't remember so we took care of it right then. Feel better soon!

It happens. Had a friend many years ago who had a terrible cough and doctors had the most trying time diagnosing her. It was pertussis.
