Our rental lease is about to expire and we are looking to buy a house near Texas Presbyterian Hospital of Plano as I work there and my husband is a consultant who needs access to 121,190, DNT and 635. My youngest would go to Barksdale Elementary but there are only 17 homes feeding to that school are on market. Some are pending and some are too expensive. That leaves us with few options. Have a look and give your opinion. Our budget is between $350K to $500K but $400K is whModerator cut: can only cite realtor.com

In this market you need a well versed realtor in the area you are interested in. There are several in this board. Good luck.

@shrapr, I know but knowing the area and limited inventory, we are considering to go with seller's agent to maximize his interest in our offer.

Just based on the link you listed, throw out the ones with only 3 bedrooms or only 2.5 baths. I can't believe they are asking that much for a 3 bed/2.5 bath (well, I can, but still) house.

Tell me about it. Location. Location. Location and the fact that this is the lowest range for this pocket, many loyal residents pick these smaller homes when they downsize from their bigger ones.

6413 Riveredge has a study that could be a 4th bedroom. I wouldn't rule it out based on that.

6108 Aberdeen seems to be pretty good bang for the buck (relatively, considering its size and pool) but oy it needs some updating

Why not expand your area to Brinker & Centennial? That should open up a few more choices. ETA: It doesn't look like there is much available in your range for those either.

I agree with the suggestion to go with an agent that specializes in this area. I know who I'd use if I were buying or selling, so if you want their name, let me know and I'll PM you. An agent can help you know when a house will be listed & get you in it the same day to look, because in this area, you probably need to be ready to make an offer on the spot.
