My husband I recently moved to Teague about 6 months ago. We have a three year old little boy who is currently enrolled at an amazing preschool located at 8th Ave. Baptist Church. Teague is quite a change from the city, but it's a welcome change. The school here is great--though maybe I'm a little biased because I'm one of the teachers here! The elementary school is a new campus (about 5 years old, maybe?) and they are currently in the works for building a completely new high school. There are several good churches in town, too. There's an Assembly of God church right off the highway that runs about 50 to 60 people, has a nursery, kids' programs, and a youth group. In town there are also two Baptist churches, a Methodist church, and a Church of Christ. I think there may be a Catholic church and a few other smaller churches as well. The biggest church in town is probably 8th Ave. Baptist--I hear that they have lots of great programs for all ages. There are also two different church-based preschools and two other daycares. I've heard good things about all of them. All in all, Teague is a quiet little town that's very friendly and laid back. It's not quite as "country" as east Texas, but it's definitely a lot slower paced than the city. If you give it a chance, I think you'll come to find that Teague makes a good home.
