Hi everyone,

I am requesting advice and guidance for special education for my 10 year old son who is high functioning
we are living in California and he is in mainstream for Math only as there are not many opportunities
for inclusion here in the district.
we hear wonderful opportunities and services in Plano and Frisco Spl ed and want to move there for
the next school year.
He will be going to Grade 5 and we want to know which schools are good and that will help us look for
homes to buy in that area.
we also have a typical 2 year old so any advice on good preschools in the area will be great.
Thank you,

S.

We used to be in the bayarea and relocated back to Texas and now in Plano. I compared both and really like the school support here in Plano. I heard the Frisco classrooms are not bad. I suggested you make a trip down here like I do 4 years back to survey the schools and even talk to the principals.

My son is 12 and is high functioning ASD as well. We struggled with his previous school district and decided to move to Allen 4 years ago. They mainstreamed him in all classes (he was previously in self contained room) and have been very proactive in communication with me and implementing any services that he has needed over the years. All of the teachers and administration has been wonderful here and I have seen a complete 180 in his social development. He is actually off of his "behavior intervention plan" and even plays football now. I would highly recommend Allen for any child in SpEd. I've heard great things about Frisco and some negative about Plano but I can't speak from those on experience, just from when I was doing my research! Good luck to you and welcome to Texas!
