Hi all,

We just moved to Murphy a week ago and are looking for a good place to taken our young kids (age 9, 7, and 3) to see some fireworks and have some fun on the 4th (or the 3rd). Since the kids are so young we'd like to stay close to home to avoid a long drive on the way home. I saw online that Firewheel in Garland will have a show, and it looks like Richardson and Plano both have shows as well.

We're looking for something now horribly crowded and with some kids activities close to Murphy. Any suggestions?

You can see Plano's from Bob Woodruff park/Dooley elementary pretty well. The park has a playground to play on as well.

Also the Breckinridge fireworks are great. But it's definitely crowded. A good spot is the shopping centers at Renner and North star. But that's really just for watching. Possibly Miller Elementary might be a good spot. That's right off S Murphy Rd

Oh and they'll be fireworks at Southfork tonite at 11pm. You'll definitely hear them but you should be able to see them from your house also.

We can but we have to move the lawn chairs to the street.

We always do Richardson's fireworks in that area (far east Richardson)...at Breckenridge Park, off Renner and Brand (near 78).

Thanks for the replies! We did see the Southfork fireworks from our 2nd floor window last night; I could hear the band's playing as well.
