Hi everyone,

Need your help there~! Thanks in advance!!

I got my first speed ticket last week on my way from Amarrillo to Dallas in Childress.

I just want to take the defensive driving class to remove the point from my record.

I live in Florida and I can't travel to Childress, TX, so I want to mail the course request and other documents to the court.

But I'm not sure whom should the paycheck to payable to the court, and also not 100% sure.
I need to send out the request before Jul-10-2015.
Does anyone have such experience and know the procedure? Do I need to pay or any recomendations?

The best thing would be to call the courthouse and ask for their procedure for requesting defensive driving. The number for the court house should be listed on your ticket somewhere.

You might just want to pay the ticket. Living in Florida and dealing with Childress, TX probably isn't worth the aggravation.

I would use Deferred Adjudication the cost is about $100 more, however, the ticket will not be reported to the insurance co. and discharged after 90 days. Small Texas towns need revenue and traffic citations are one of the methods. I look at it as compensation/wages for a judge, clerk, and a police officer.
