I've looked on the DART website and have some info, but looking for any insiders' tips or views on the DART line from Rowlett to Love Field, coming from home in Rockwall. Would the DART shave time off of the commute? Is it easy to navigate? How is the parking lot in Rowlett? And how close is the station at Love Field to the airport? Thanks in advance!

Rowlett Dart is blue line.
Love Field is green or orange line, and unless something's changed recently, the train doesn't go to the airport, you have to switch from train to bus.

So a Rockwall-Love Field commute means you have to drive to Rowlett, take the blue line downtown, transfer to the green/orange line, then transfer to a bus.
That doesn't seem like a way to shave time off the commute.

It's been a couple of years since I checked into it so I could be wrong, hopefully someone else will weigh in.

Just a little addition to the above - you can transfer to the Orange line before DTD at Mockingbird Station, where Blue joins Orange & Red heading into Downtown.

DART Travel Times

I'll assume it takes 10-15 minutes for you to get to the Rowlett Station

Rowlett to West End Station on the Blue Line is 40 minutes

West End Station to Inwood/Love Field Station is 11 minutes

Then you transfer to a bus that takes your to the airport (Approx 10 minutes)

In total, from your home, it should take you about 1 hr 15 min on average to commute by train/bus to Love Field

During rush hour this may be faster but on average it won't be. However, you do get to sit on the train and read/catch up on email/work for 45-50 min.
