Buying in Anna
I've been looking at some homes online in Anna. I know it's pretty far removed from civilization however, the home prices are really good - especially for me.
One of the builders is Ryland......does anyone know the scoop on this builder? I didn't find much online about them.
Thanx!

I have had mixed reviews from clients about Ryland. It really comes to community to community. The customer service feedback has been good from the clients, it's just the number of warranty claims they they received within the first year. I am told that Ryland has been responsive to all of them though.

I'm interested in their Oak Hollow community. I can't seem to find any info on HOA fees though.
Thank you.

If you are considering Anna, consider Horizon homes instead. They are the same company as Highland Homes and much better reputation. My boss owns one and he has been very pleased. Large open floorplans at a reasonable price.

The HOA fees in Oak Hollow are 160 a year. They have a community pool.

Thank you! I'm hoping to drive up there today and check out the various possibilities. There are a lot of things to consider.
I'm wondering if Anna is one of the areas that flood so badly, and how is the soil there? I also read that there is only one electric and one phone company listed in that community.

I am going to Oak Hollow in a few minutes. I have a friend who just had her baby and they are in need of some help. Their baby is in the NICU downtown Dallas Baylor. Very stressful for them right now... anyways, the neighborhood is filled with many young families. I often see families out walking, some with kiddos in strollers and kids playing in their yards when I go to visit my friend. Lots of foreclosures as well. I would say it is a nice starter or empty nester area.

Thank you, and I'll keep the baby and your friends in my prayers.
I drove up to the subdivision today.....frankly, I'd rather shoot myself than live so far removed from "anything." LOL
Thanks again.

And trying to get on and off the Hwy 75 down into the subdivisons is downright scary now that the city has opened its arms to liquors stores......Collin Co. restaurants are required to buy their liquor in Collin Co and Anna is about the only place to go buy - the corner there with the liquor stores and truck stops is dangerous, especially coming in at night. The trucks are often backed up out of the truckstop waiting to park and they have the street blocked.
