Relocating to Irving Texas (near the Irving Mall area) and I have read, and heard, that crime (property vandalism, personal crime, automobile crime etc) are big issues in this area? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I have two young children. Thanks!

Parts of Irving have a bad reputation because the neighborhoods are old and look like little slices of Mexico, but for the most part theres very little crime.

Appreciate the tip. Do you have any thoughts on the Irving Mall? Good? Bad? Nice selection of shops? Or is it something I should just stay clear of?

North Irving, Las Colinas and Valley Ranch have less crime. Areas near Irving mall, for that matter anything in irving closer to 180 have considerable crime rate.

Irving Mall caters to the mostly Hispanic customers. It has no "upscale" stores. If you are looking for discount stores, then you will have many choices.
