I am moving to Dallas soon for work and wondering where the best place for me to live would be, technically I will be working in Mansfield but I don't think that place will be as fun as Dallas to live in. I would like to know where the more lively bar strips are, not strip clubs. Basically what I want to know is what are the party streets where I can go bar hopping without driving? Thanks in advance!

I think you're a real lover of bar. Because you didn't want anything else just want to go on bar. Carry on!

I want to find a place near bars that way when I do decide to go out to drink I won't have to drive, everything else I do I won't be worried about driving since I won't have alcohol in my system.

If I were you I'd look at places in the Bishop Arts District. Plenty of bars and places to go out in walking distance, and on the right side of Downtown Dallas for a commute to Mansfield. Take Uber to Uptown or Lower Greenville when you want to go out in those areas. I would agree that if going out is your main concern that Mansfield or the surrounding areas (GP, Arlington, SE Fort Worth) aren't the places for you.

Uptown.

Uptown is the premier location for the Dallas bar scene. McKinney Avenue is where the greatest collection of bars is located. In Uptown, there is also a collection of bars near Cedar Springs, between Maple and Routh and near the Katy Trail. These bars include 6th Street, Kung Fu, Concrete Cowboy, and Katy Trail Ice House.

The $1,300 price tag might be hard to get in Uptown. Most well located buildings nearest to the bars have one bedrooms going around $1,500 to $1,800. However, there are times where you can get a good deal on a studio or a one bedroom around that price point. Often times, people get 2 bedroom apartments in Uptown to split rent and get under that price point.

I lived in Uptown in my 20's and absolutely loved it.

You will be in a small 1 bedroom for that price range, but it will be well worth it.

Uptown is going to be a long commute to Mansfield. Personally, I'd look at Fort Worth in the Magnolia or West 7th areas. This will be a lot easier commute for you and both of these are fun areas with many places in walking distance.
