I am seeing very high amount of TDU charges lately in my electricity bill. 55%. $200 usage and $111 TDU. Total bill = $311. Wtf? Is it normal? Never used to pay this much for TDU.

What is your per kWh charge? If it is between 8-11 cents your bill is normal. The tdu fees were always there, however, now the retail providers are breaking them out as separate line items.

It was 5.7c, now since our consumption increased, it went upto 8.2c. I didn't knew the TDU adds up on top of it considerably which sucks...

Since I didn't see it mentioned, but are you on a fixed rate contract? If not, I'd recommend signing up for one on powertochoose.org.
