Second month in the Dallas area from Chicago. I currently stay with families in Grand Prairie but i just got a job around Forest Lane Dallas, TX 75230 and looking to move.

I am deciding between Far North Dallas/Addison.. not familiar with the areas, just from my online searches.

Any suggestion on what area to look? Apartment recommendations? My max rent is $850, 1 bedroom, no pets.

Thank you guys and drink responsibly haha

If the job is on Forest Lane you would be better off on the south side of hwy 635/LbJ Frwy, so North Dallas would work better.

I would look in the older complexes in The Village, which is an apartment community off Lovers & 75. It's safe & one of the last options for inexpensive apartments that aren't sketchy. About a 5-8 minute commute to Forest & 75.

I second THE VILLAGE on 75 and lover lane. The whole communit is great place to stay with over 12 apartments complexes to suit different budget need plus they have soo much going on there for residents to mingle. I stayed there for 3 years and loved it. The apartments closer to Abrams had some problems then(over 5 yrs back) but that side has also been cleaned up now with nice apartments showing up on the other side, so should be good.

Thanks, the cheapest one is currently going for $850 for 525ft.. I think that's too much for little space lol

How was the inside? Their website is showing $850 for less than 600ft, that's pretty small space for that amount

Welcome to Dallas, where a safe no-frills apartment in a good locstion costs a lot more than most relocatees think. I would choose location over space, especially if you live alone.

Depends on which complex you are looking at in The Village, I lived at the CHASE and in those time got a 2 bedroom for 950$. I am sure that must be up 200$ or so now but the apartment was decent with no frills.

Yea, cost of living here is definitely not cheap like they make it seem PLUS you still pay for all utilities including WATER & TRASH, those are still pretty new and funny to me but hey, it's the Dallas way

Found an Apartment, I think in Richardson 9670 Forest Lane 75243, 12 mins drive to work BUT is it a safe area? Any suggestion on that area is appreciated.

Thanks.
