The bank would only nix the deal if the home appraised for far less than the selling price. They don't care about a crack in the pool. The home just needs to be able to be insured.

I would never buy this property with a cracked pool. Knowing the foundation problems in this area of Texas, a cracked pool would give me thought of possible house foundation work needed. I also consider a mere plaster job as being more of a cosmetic fix.

If it's only a cosmetic crack and house is good otherwise then I'll totally buy it. That's where knowledgeable buyers get good properties at good prices.
