Default Moving to Prosper...info?

We just bought a house in Prosper and are closing late Feb. I am still living in the Chicago, IL area with the kids until then. Anyone familiar with the area and surrounding area with good info (tips, need-to-knows, good restaurants, fun family places, etc.) would be appreciated. Thank you!!

There are Prosperites on this website - Frisco-Online Community Talk Forums. I'm not sure there is a whole bunch in Prosper at this point. There's a bounce house place. I hope you don't work too far away because it's pretty far out there. I hear nice things about the schools.

I am flying there this weekend to look at Prosper too from Chicago. What did you think of it? And the area in general?

Prosper is gorgeous... but it's FAR from almost everything. The tollway now extends up to 380 which is the start of Prosper, but be prepared to shell out some $ for tolls just to go anywhere. Traffic on Preston isn't fun, especially on the 1 lane each way portion beyond El Dorado.

Dion Sanders would be your neighbor... he's got the monster of a home on Preston on the right as you head north. 38,000 sq ft or so... I'd hate to see the tax or cooling bill on that sucker! Seems like it's a big sports player town... we were there and a kicker for the LA Rams was signing a contract on a home while we were looking at the model for the neighborhood. The agent was saying how there were a few more football players in the area building some custom homes.

The builder we liked most in the area was Dave Williams. Beautiful homes... but we decided to stay closer to town, and not to spend so much on a home to save on yearly taxes. I couldn't stomach paying 16k a year on property taxes (most of the neighborhoods we saw were 500k+).
