Hey there,

My family lives in Houston, and never to Dallas. We plan to go to Texas State Fair this year with 2 kids.
We are looking for the hotel which is on the DART green line, so we can ride it to the fair to avoid the parking issues. Is anyone has any recommendation for this? Thank you.

Just look somewhere on the westside of Downtown within a few blocks of Union Station. The Hyatt Regency, The Omni, And several others are nearby. Just search around for the best rates. I normally use Hotwire.com for low rates.

All of the DART lines can get you to the Fair if you're willing to change trains once, and it's very easy! I'd say look along the red line as there are a lot more choices and it's generally in better parts of town.

stay downtown and take Uber. From there to Fair Park using Uber may even be less money than buying everyone Dart passes. Last time I took Uber from downtown to fair park, it was $8 split between 4 of us.

Dart line access:
Sheraton
Omni
Crowne Plaza
Magnolia Place (Mockingbird station development option)

Options within walking distance of Dart:
Magnolia
Adolphus
Aloft
Indigo

Option for Uber:
NYLO

Downtown Marriott on Pearl also has DART line access and there's a Springhill Suites in West End within walking distance.

Marriott is okay but I would not recommend the Springhill Suites at all. The walk from there to the station serving both Dart and the downtown bus transfer station would not be fun.

Yeah, that was my stop for a couple years when I worked in the West End. I'm quite familiar.

I think jdallas is referring to the "sketchiness" of the station/walk. During the day it is fine, even it night there is usually a police presence.

I don't know what your budget is, but I'd suggest the Sheraton downtown, which is right by the Pearl/Arts District Station (on the Green Line, so no transfer required), and also across from the Megabus station if you'd prefer to leave the car at home altogether.

The Marriott is also right by the Pearl/Arts District Station, though not as close to Megabus.
