I work in insurance claims. If you aren't married to the idea of getting a job with your degree, there are a ton of insurance companies in DFW and they always seem to be hiring. And in my experience, nobody had a BA in insurance! Just off the top of my head I had employees and colleagues who had degrees in International Studies, Journalism, Political Science, Agricultural Leadership, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Biology, and the list goes on.

My plan was to work an entry level job and save up for a few years for grad school to help my chances of going into my degree field, but 10+ years and a few promotions later this is my career and I'm satisfied with it. Best of luck to you and feel free to PM if you would like any advice.

Production manager/16 yr manual lathe machinist for a really small machine shop. Definitely seems like a dying breed, especially for someone my age - 36.
