I understand your loyalty and appreciate Allen's town spirit. However, no poster said that Allen High or UTD are bad, just that they aren't HP High, Coppell High, Plano High, Rice or UT Austin. Second tier is second tier, first tier is first tier.

Allen is first tier in football and no one can argue with that. However, it is hard to get selected for Allen's football team so one has to pick if they want to be proud of their first tier team or actually experience playing football on some second tier team.

Probably the lowest rated elementary in any of the suburbs around here will be an 8 or higher. Definitely not a reason to choose buying a home in one location vs another around here. Middle school... the waters get a little muddier, but even then, schools are going to be pretty comparable among the different cities.

High school is a different story. That's been discussed to death.
