I'm coming from out of town. Does anyone know where I could stay in the North Dallas area, where I could bring my two big dogs? None of the hotel chains listed on those pet-friendly sites will accept two 100 lb dogs. Are there any other less conventional options that might work?

Found this site Pet Friendly Hotels in Dallas, TX, US. Size limits on several places mentioned, but not all.

La Quinta is super pet friendly! I stayed there one night and thought there was a dog show being held in the area.

How far north and what price range? We've stayed with our dogs at the fairmont, the mansion, and the la quinta at fitzhugh. Also, sometimes with weight restrictions if you have a friendly breed of dog they will make an exception. We've had great luck with this with our goldens.

You could check out Rover.com. It's basically Air BnB for dogs and much cheaper than boarding.

My wife and I use the service and love it so much that we started watching dogs in Arlington. It's probably around $40/night for two dogs.
