Valley Ranch, in north Irving, and Plano have large Indian communities.

Where will to use commuting for work?
What's your budget for a house?

Coppell has lots of Indians, good schools and short commute to your jobs. I am not sure which subdivisions are popular among them but usually realtors know these demographics. North Plano, Richardson and Valley Ranch look good options to find Indian friends. Dallas doesn't offer good public schools (with exception of magnets) so not an Indian favorite.

If your are looking to be in neighborhoods with huge Indian communities, the two that stick out most are:

1) Valley Ranch in Irving (centered around North Lake)
2) North Plano (centered around Russell Creek Park)

Those areas areas are almost over 50% Indian alone!

Then in addition to those, you have others that are well over 20% Indian. They include:

Allen (the area bordering Plano)
Coppell (the area bordering Irving)
Murphy
Carrollton (centered around the Hebron area)
Lewisville (Castle Hills-this is quickly becoming a favorite among upper class Indians)

In any one of these, you will be around many other Indians.

Since you will be commuting to downtown, and he will be going to TI in east Dallas, I wouldn't recommend Valley Ranch or Coppell. The major highway he would have to drive on every day (635) is currently undergoing a major reconstruction and is a MESS. He would be spending a lot of unnecessary time in the car being stuck in traffic!

I would say look in Plano or Richardson. That will be a MUCH easier commute for him, and you could even ride the DART train downtown for work! Plus, both of these cities have excellent schools, and there is a thriving Indian community in Plano.

Justme02 has a pretty complete list. The only other Indian area I can think of is the 75082 part of Richardson. Lots of current and recent construction, and the buyers have worked out to be heavily Indian. Price range works, and closer to TI.
