I have gone to the square in Denton for 10 years now. It has always had a good share of eclectic people and that is one of the the reaons why I enjoy visiting it as my part of the metroplex is extremely straight laced. But, there is a fine line between eclectic and "druggee".

Lately, I have been noticing more dazed looking stoners, semi homeless, and drunk in public types on the square. I even got panhandled by one of the semi homeless youths. The last time I went, one basement bar was playing bad renditions of grunge music on Sunday that could be heard in the street outside. In the past, I got the impression that the bars on the square were more controlled.

Has anybody else seen this? Or, are my impressions just based on a few bad days?

last time I was at the Square (Summer 2014) me and my wife went to LSA Burger...Perfect evening, good food, booze and music....but yes, we got bombarded by more than few people for money, cigs, rides (one tried to get us to take him to the Dallas Greyhound lol)

But thats not the reason we havent been back since 2014. We're currently living in WV unfortunately, but one of the first things I'll do when we get back is spend a spring evening on the Square, still love it! Especially when you live outside of TX, you just dont see ol town squares like in TX...at least not in WV or NE....
