I am trying to get a feel for how my commute time would be going to Arlington and back every day. I currently live in Arlington and am wanting to move to a smaller town with acreage and home. I am looking at the following places: Waxahachie, Midlothian, Crowley or Burleson. I am wondering if someone could chime in on which commute would be the easiest. Thank you in advance.

I would take a weekend and see what the time is like from each area is to get to Arlington or vice versa. Granted, it won't be during rush hour traffic.

Waxahachie is the furthest by miles. 287 runs right through Midlothian and Waxahachie....that could be convenient so you can get on 360. My guess, any place you live, would be anywhere from 35 min to an hour, maybe even more. It just depends on traffic and lights.

Just an fyi, Crowley is being built up fast and I am not sure if there is much acreage available. If there is, it probably won't last long. We pass Crowley everyday on the west side and there is construction, lots of houses being built. Burleson is the same, unless you move further out, which makes your commute longer.

You're right. Sorry I didn't specify that. The commute would be to downtown Arlington.

Burleson to downtown Arlington is about an hour in traffic. When I worked in Arlington, I had a coworker who made that drive every day.

I have a similar situation. I currently live in Dallas, but an starting a new job right near Six Flags. I share custody of my kids, who live in Dallas, and who visit every other weekend. I would like to find a reasonably-priced, safe, yet more "country" type armosphere. I would be seeking to rent a small house or duplex, and not have a super-ling commute. Us this even realistic?

There is nothing that's a "country" feeling between Dallas and Arlington unless you want to live in the Trinity River bottoms...
