Having lived and traveled all over the world pretty much my whole life, I have discovered that most non-Texans have some pretty outlandish misconceptions about this state. Weather and otherwise.

Two coworkers/physicians just moved here from Cali. I will never forget how one of them was just exclaiming how awesome it is here while the other was saying she was shocked at the house prices.

Typically one or 2 good snow storms a year, however I have seen it not snow at all.

We had a couple really bad ones, like the time the superbowl came to town. It pretty much shutdown the city.

I've been here through 2 winters, haven't seen it snow yet. Maybe a flurry here and there but nothing's that stocked. Also haven't seen one of these famous ice storms yet either.

it doesn't snow every year in Dallas it snows once every 2-3 years on average. The last few years have had snow nearly every year -those are outliers. Last winter it didn't snow at all. That's normal. Points north of Dallas (really Denton north) get snow more regularly.
