Don't go during Texas/OU weekend. Outside of that, it's not too crazy. There are a lot of people, but you would be a sardine by any means. There is a lot to do, so it could be a few hours or an all day event. I usually go three times. Once with the little ones to ride some baby rides and eat. Once with my wife only to ride more rides, go through the car show and vendors. Then once again with my buddy to drink, eat and play the midway. They also have concerts (decent acts usually), parades, light shows, etc. Enjoy your time and bring lots of cash!

With the kids that age, you should go during the day during the week. There are discount days if you bring in cans of Dr. Pepper, there are days when every game wins a prize so the kids can feel like winners...

I second the previous posters. Weekdays are least busy and weekends most. The Texas/OU football game is Saturday, Oct. 10th so DO NOT go that day. Trains will be packed and it'll be shoulder to shoulder before and after the game. It's actually not bad during the football game itself but going and coming home would be a nightmare, especially with little ones.

Be very careful that you don't let them know at the fair that your a State Fair Virgin! They sacrifice virgins to the god of fried foods to ensure a good gross receipts for the fair!!
