Well, thought I would update everyone in case they were interested. I will say, by my own definition and comfort level, that Plano, in general is not walkable. Our location near the Shops at Legacy, seemed okay, and it worked, but we had to cross a busy 4 lane road with no crosswalk or light, pushing a baby in a stroller. That was not ideal! The hotel is brand new, and nice, but it sits in a field, surrounded by open lots and parking lots for some of the corporate businesses. There are lights about a block up on either side of the hotel, but no sidewalks leading to them.

The pool was also not heated, as the hotel mentioned. So, no pool to entertain the little one with. Of course, with the hurricane weather, we were stuck inside most of the time. We did get out a few days and discovered the awful fire ants. Poor baby!

Overall, unless one is staying at the Marriot in the Shops area, or they decide to put in sidewalks, I would not recommend this hotel for walkability. It was not ideal! Glad the trip is over. Entertaining a 2 year old with limited things to do was rough. I really wish my SIL would have rented us a car. It would have made our trip much more pleasant.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in.
