I'd like to do a "reality check" for directions to Dallas Love Field Airport from Fort Worth (via I-30 E.). Google Maps is telling me the following. Would you recommend that way? Also, how much will the toll cost me on the Tollway (in either direction)? Thanks.

- Take exit 45A on the left to merge onto I-35E N toward Denton
1.8 mi
2 mins

- Take exit 429D to merge onto Dallas North Tollway N
Partial toll road
1.4 mi
2 mins

- Take the exit toward Cedar Springs Rd
279 ft

- Merge onto Herschel Ave
413 ft

- Turn left at Cedar Springs Rd
2.7 mi
8 mins

- Slight right to stay on Cedar Springs Rd (signs for Passenger Arrivals)
0.1 mi

Cedar Springs is also the access road straight on to the airport grounds. Directions look k to me. If you are not sure just type in "Dallas love field" on google maps and look at the map itself to see if it makes sense.

The problem with those directions is that when you enter the Tollway from downtown they're doing some weird construction right around the Cedar Spring exit. I'm guessing that you can exit to Cedar Springs but I wouldn't swear to it. The toll should be $.75 or so. You're not on the Tollway for very long.

What I would do is stay on I-35E toward Denton for a couple of more miles and exit Mockingbird Lane. You'll turn right on Mockingbird and stay on it for I'd guess 3-4 miles and Love Field will be on your left. You'll pass under the Harry Hines Blvd. overpass, through Denton Drive and the next light should be Cedar Springs on your right and Love Field on your left. You can't miss the airport on the left...the runway is right there. The other way works too but the Tollway is a mess right now. Just an alternate route for you...

Thanks for the alternate directions - I'm grateful for that info.! An outsider like me would've never known about the construction until it was too late. I'll print out your directions as well. Thanks again!

Just a tip. If you're parking your car in the lot for a flight (as opposed to dropping off or picking someone up) park on the third floor long term parking near the exit/entry doors on the side near the entrance. You'll only have to take a few steps to get onto the moving sidewalks for a thoroughly pleasant walk to the terminals which you can't duplicate at DFW without paying for the expensive parking. If you're like me, you'll never want to go back to DFW after trying it.

^ Thanks, I'll keep that in mind should I ever fly via DAL.

I was going to go to DAL at 1 this afternoon, but my friend's flight got delayed, so it'll be 3 p.m. Hopefully traffic won't be an issue.

Just plan on spending the evening in Dallas instead of trying to leave in the traffic... that would be painful!

I know; I'm worried about that. I was hoping to be back in FW before dark, but it looks like that won't happen.

If you don't know how to get to Love Field, and you live here, something is really wrong with you people. There are signs out there.
