Hello, I am looking for an apartment near the 75241 zip code or 30min away. I currently live in Arlington and would love to be closer to my new job but don't want to live in the hood. I am looking for a one or two bed room for 600-750 a month. Please help!

Your new job is in the hood...

You could live in the southern part of Grand Prairie near I20 and still be closer than you are in Arlington. But that's as close as I would want to be.

The problem in that area is not that all the neighborhoods are bad, but unfortunately most of the apartment complexes are. There are plenty of beautiful houses in well-maintained middle-class neighborhoods that most people in DFW have no idea about... but if you're in the market to rent an apartment things are a lot tougher. You can look in DeSoto and Cedar Hill but I wouldn't recommend Duncanville, Lancaster or any of the other Dallas zips in that area for apartments.

One other option might be to look in Mesquite. Maybe a little closer than Arlington but you'd almost never run into traffic on 635/20. Best of luck.

Most of the apartments in Mesquite are old and not very nice. I wouldn't recommend it.

There are apartment complexes in Lancaster, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, and Duncanville that are decent, safe, and provide a relatively short commute. Red Oak might work too. Using an apartment locator could help narrow down the options as well as checking online apartment reviews/ratings. Without increasing your price range, I would rule out two bedrooms.
