I'm just curious to see if anyone has any insight as to why stores and malls open so much later here in TX. The vast majority of places where I am located don't open until 10AM, which to me seems very late in the morning. I mean, I'm ready and raring to go as soon as I drop my daughters off at school at 8AM but then I have to wait until things open or go to Wal-Mart or Target, the only 2 stores around (with the exception of grocery stores) that are open at that time.

While I don't want to go back to the state that I came from, I do miss being able to shop at several stores by 8 and 9AM. Any ideas here?

P.S. I hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving

Most stores base their open & close times based on sales to overhead. Perhaps most Dallas area stay at home parents grab a game of tennis or coffee with friends prior to heading out to shop?

Most retail stores open at 10AM in California, Illinois, Arizona, and Nevada. Where would that be different?
