I am taking our son to his first Dallas Stars game tonight. It has probably been 20 years since I have been.

Any tips on where to take a 6 year old to eat beforehand, best place to park (I imagine I will be carrying him out of there after an hour or so), or anything I should show him in the arena?

I like the blue lot across the street. You can pick up a pass from Texas Tickets or somewhere like that, and it's only $15 to park. It's easy to get in and out. You may be surprised - the quick motions and fast pace keeps my son occupied pretty much the entire time. If you get there early enough for warmups, you can take him down to the glass to watch and they may flip him a puck.

I say take the DART rail. I bet your son would enjoy the train ride! It will also save you at least $5 on parking.

The AAC has lots of food options. I would think a kid would be fine with just getting a pizza there. Most of the places to eat within walking distance are bars, and I wouldn't be comfortable bringing a 6 year old there.

I 2nd the DART, would be a fun experience for a 6 year old. If you do drive there are a couple of large parking garages right next the stadium that could work or if you don't mind the walk from the South side of Victory, there is $5 parking in the underground garage of The House/Hard Rock Building.

As far as food goes, try Neo's Pizza (it's right next to the small park within Victory)

Depending on where OP is coming from, the DART can take far too long to be trapped with a kid.

It takes just as long to drive in traffic...

Can you walk from Neo's Pizza (Olivella's) to the stadium? Thanks again for the help!

Absolutely and it's only about 2 blocks away. The area is very well lit at night as well.

Not even close. Taking the DART if it isn't easily accessible adds 30+ minutes each way, every time I've done it.
