Hi,

My zip code is 75252 but sometimes I see few numers after it in the address on the mail I receive sometimes I don't. what is the second part of the zip code?
If it's needed where do I find out what is the second part of it?
Sorry if the question is trivial but I just moved in from europe.

Thank you

That is Zip+4 and you already know what it is since you are asking what it is.

United States Postal Service usage[edit] In the US Postal System, a delivery point is a specific set of digits between 00 and 99 assigned to every address. When combined with the ZIP + 4 code, the delivery point provides a unique identifier for every deliverable address served by the USPS.

thanks for replying, it's clear that a combination of zip code plus the other 4 digits uniquely represent the adress. What is not clear is why often the last 4 digits you mention are not used and where do I find the added 4 digits for my residence.
thanks

Not everyone uses the Zip4 and it is not legally required that anyone use it.
Also, the numbers you see on the mail you already have are the numbers for your address.

ZIP+4 Code

That'll give you the Zip+4 of an address.

Some forms ask for it but I have never furnished it and don't know what it is. I believe bulk mailers like catalog companies use it. Maybe they get a slight discount on postage.
