Doesn't look to be as you can streetview all the way to the individual property gates.

Serious question : Do people buying a 2.8 million dollar home really care about public schools ? I did not think so....

Uh, why not?
That's not an area where houses are cheap to begin with.
Postage stamp starts in the $500ks.

Right.. that was sorta the point. I thought folks who could afford a 2.8 million home would be sending their kids to some fancy private schools for sure. No ? Now they would care about prestige of the location and safety and convenience etc. for sure. Schools ? Not sure...

The top kids at those schools do about as well as the kids in the privates.
*shrug*
Plenty of fancy cars in the parking lot.
But I can only speak of my experience of living in that exact area for 26 years.

Yes. Do they have the option of private, absolutely. But many of my classmates lived in houses worth 2.8+ and we all went to public school.

The top privates have limited slots available, so "highly rated public schools" remain very important, even for people who can afford such homes.

HPISD is filled with the children of people whose homes probably cost in that general range. Yeah, that's an outlier, but the point remains.
