Hi All,

We are moving from NJ to Dallas. Anyone know what's the procedure of elementary school transfer? Any records that should be taken, etc. Thank you in advance.

When we moved within the state of TX we filled out paper work at our new school to give them permission to request records from our old school.

Not sure if it's the same for out of state. Your best bet will be to call the district you're moving to and ask. Or if you know the specific elementary, call the office and speak to the registrar and they'll be able to tell you the process.

Welcome

you will need medical records showing current immunizations. Better to get that from your Dr. before you leave.

Check what immunizations Texas requires and let your doctor give them now, if missing any. States aren't always compatible in requirements.

Same boat here and what I have researched is this: once you have determined which school district you intend to live in, go to the district website, verify address in "find school" then contact the school you are zoned to attend or go to school website and it will tell you what documentation you need to enroll your child. Certain immunizations are required by the state of Texas. Get a copy of your child's NJ immunization records before going to TX to register.
