My almost 2 year old is OBSESSED with all things vehicular, especially race cars and monster trucks. We want to do something fun for his birthday--anything in the DFW area that would be appropriate for his age range?

I'd say the State Fair auto show and maybe the boat show that are later in the year. In those, he can crawl around inside the cars and pretend like he is driving. For this month, TX Motor Speedway track tours.
Speedway World Gift Shop & Track Tours

You can also go to the Lamborghini (75 in Richardson) and the Ferarri/Masteratti dealerships (near the DNT) and just look - they may be cool to a 2 year old on a slow day or they may shoo you away.

As a present...

Power Wheels Porsche 911 GT3 | ToysRUs

Technically the age range is 3 and up, but my daughter can drive hers at age 2. Just depends on how tall your kid is, may not be able to reach the pedal.

As far as things to do... You could always have a Disney "Cars" themed party. Probably won't find too many places that have "car" things they can do at that age, just too little. Even driving simulators would be too big. Not old enough for bumper cars yet either.
