I would probably not take my kids to this parade. It does get risque and most of the people actually in the parade as well as the spectators are DRUNK, drunk, drunk. At least, my friends and I always were. That was SUCH a fun day to be young and single in Dallas. We'd all meet up at Two Rows for bloody mary's in the morning and party all day and night. Ahhhh, memories.

I suppose it does not seem much worse than explaining to the kids about the crack or meth ho's in our neighborhood. Just is what it is. Might mean something if the kids were older and thinking that the parade was part of Careers Day, but it for now is just part of the realm of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Nightly News.

The real drink, drank, drunk stuff is mostly after the parade, further south on Greenville. We do not stick around for that. Sort of daily life on lower Greenville -- For too much detail on that check out Avi's page >>>
