Hello,

We're considering moving to McKinney, TX from NYC. Could you please tell me what this town is like? Are people open minded about blacks, Asians, gays, etc?

We're an Asian-American straight couple (Koreans) with no kids, and we both work from home. So school and work isn't the issue. We're simply looking for a better living situation than what NYC can offer us.

We were considering Plano, TX because of the high Asian population, but Mckinney seems to have better housing for the price asked. Will we see a lot of other Asians in Mckinney area?

Thanks for all your help! Really appreciate it!

Interracial marriage here with 2 sons. Absolutely no issues. I'm half asian half white, my wife is white. Not a large population of asians here though, but it's a hop skip and a jump to plano. I prefer mckinney.

I'm in Mckinney and half my friends and neighbors are either Indian, Chinese, or Vietnamese. I'd say 25% of my neighborhood is Indian. I think you will be very welcome here. I came from NYC as well.

They don't bother Asians over there, not even 20 years ago.

+1 that the Indian population is decently high in McKinney

However, asians...I feel like slim to none. Frisco + Plano are where all the asians are

There are probably 10-15 racist in McKinney. The rest not so.

Hope you never meet those 10-15.

Smh
I won't even answer that question, but I will say we are tired of being overrun. I remember when my parents knew everyone in the whole town. Now it's become an ocean of outsiders that have completely diluted the small town Texas everyone is desperately seeking and reading about on the internet. Another Texas well gone bad.

Frisco is so hot right now it almost feels weird when someone mentions one of the "other" Collin county cities
