If we work in the Love Field area, what areas are best to live in?
Ideally, the house would be less than $450k, in as safe an area as possible, and the (off-hours) commute would be no more than 20 minutes, with as little time spent on freeways/tollways as possible.
The 75229 area seems an obvious choice, but what other areas should we consider?

Thanks.

Check 75220 also. Just like 75229 you have to pay attention to the neighborhood. Just did a search on a popular local real estate site and saw some really cute properties in 75220.

You can look in 75039, 75206 as well. Also 75248.
Addison will also work.
Do you need to be using the public schools?

75206: about 20 min, lower Greenville & M Streets. Character neighborhood near lots of shops & restaurants:

75039: in the Las Colinas section of Irving; generally newish planned community very near the rail station. Pretty high density living. About 20 min to Love field.

75248: In North Dallas, generally Texas style houses from the 70's & 80's in very good Richardson or Plano schools. Very suburban style. About 20 min to Love field.

I would recommend Sparkman Club Estates, which is 75229, or Park Forest, which is also 75229. These both feed into the outstanding DeGolyer Elementary and are well within your price range.

Withers Elementary's attendance zone is also in 75229, but it's hit or miss as to whether you can find something for $450k. Many older homes are tear-down candidates so that's driving the price up.

75244 might also work, particularly the Glen Meadow Estates neighborhood or the part of Farmers Branch to the north of that. These feed into Gooch Elementary, which is an outstanding school, albeit one which is almost entirely low income students (the families in the single-family homes either send their kids to private school or transfer them to Withers or DeGolyer).

All of these areas are a 10-15 minute straight shot down Midway/Marsh/Webb Chapel to Love Field.

Appreciate the help, Lone Ranger (love the name).

Can anybody give me input for the area between 75 and 635, north of White Rock Lake? (Lake Highlands, etc.)

Parts of Lake Highlands are great, but it can be a haul between there and Love Field.
